Poppies are one of my favorite subjects. I was inspired to do this painting on a trip to Blue Ridge GA on Memorial Day a few years ago. The GA Dept of Transportation plants wildflowers along the roadsides of many highways. We have Lady Bird Johnson to thank for this!
I just had to stop and take some pictures so I could create a painting on another day. Poppies are not native to the USA but have been naturalized from Europe. This painting is 24"x20" and can be painted on any size canvas you need.

I travel to the Blue Ridge mountains quite often for inspiration and relaxation. You can send me one of your favorite places and I can do a custom piece of art for you.
Marsh grass in the fall on St Simons Isl, GA
I love the Southeast coast in the fall! The marsh grass that is usually many shades of green puts on a fantastic fall display of rich golden color, hence the nickname of St Simons Isl, "The Golden Isles". I photographed the marshes around Jekyll and St Simons all day last year in November. I drove back and forth over the huge Sydney Lanier bridge about 2o times to get just the right shot for this painting. The painting is 24"x20" and is painted on 1.25" gallery wrapped canvas. I also painted the edges so you dont have to frame it.
Tuscan Poppies
Acrylic painting on canvas.
The hills of Tuscany are another place I love to paint. You can send me one of your favorite vacation places and I can paint a special memory for you.
Big Poppies in North Georgia
Poppies are a favorite subject of mine. We have many poppy fields in North Georgia in late spring.
I am very
inspired by the mountains and the roadside flowers.
Confederate Daisies
I love daisy time on Stone Mountain Georgia! The confederate daisies bloom in fall all over Stone Mountain. The daisies love the rocky shallow soil on the mountain. They make the whole mountain look as if yellow paint has been splashed all over it. These flowers only grow within a 60 mile radius of the mountain. The botanical name is Helianthus porterii
Stone Mountain daisies 2
The Confederate daisy blooms in September on Stone Mountain Ga. I love to go hiking on the mountain when these colorful flowers light up the mountain.
This is an acrylic painting on canvas.
